Veinsite® Vein Veiwing Headset
The Veinsite uses near-infrared (NIR) light to image superficial veins up to 7mm below the surface of the skin. The NIR light is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the veins, creating dark vein maps, that one physician has described as “black rivers on white sand”.
The dual LCD mini monitors in the headset display clear images of the veins allowing the physician to visualize the superficial veins. It is particularly useful to see the “feeder” veins so that the source of the reflux can be treated. Likewise, when doing a stab phlebectomy procedure, visualization of the entire length of the vein is useful.
