Gel-Block embolization pledgets
Gel-Block embolization pledgets are pre-formed, radially compressed pledgets of gelatin foam designed to be delivered through a catheter to embolize vessels in hypervascular tumors and arteriovenous malformations(AVMs). Gel-Block replaces the need to create homemade gelatin torpedoes or gelatin slurries at the procedure table.
Gel-Block comes packaged in a delivery tube that allows for simple flushing, connection to the catheter and delivery without the physician ever having to touch the pledget. Gel-Block is available in 3 sizes, matched for delivery through catheters with different I.D.’s. Once delivered, each pledget quickly expands to the maximum diameter listed below:

Gel-Block Embolization Pledgets are packaged in a sterile tray with two delivery tubes, and each tube containing one pledget, along with
a 1cc or 3cc delivery syringe. Each retail box of Gel-Block contains
five separate sterile trays.
